The Carinus Art Centre has been hosting Art workshop for Juniors (age 9 to 13 years) and various adult workshops during the year. The Ceramic Design workshop is ever popular. Watch our Facebook page for advertisements.

Carinus have been offering an annual art auction since 2010 as a fundraiser. The auction has become a very popular and fun event in town. For the cost of a ticket visitors receive a special drink (e.g. glass of champagne, sangria, gluwein) and an abundance of Carinus ‘legendary’, ‘designer’ finger food. The Carinus staff choose a theme every year which inspires the decoration of the entrance to the galleries, the poster, invitation cards, table decorations and the outfits of the teachers! Past themes have been: From Our House to the Bauhaus, Afro-Pop, Junk Status, Platinum Jubilee, and Harlequin’s Carnival.

We have had some excellent auctioneers who with their wit and flair add to the fun experience.

We sell the works of professional artists, both on the main auction and on a silent auction, where bids get placed in a box and are invisible to other buyers. There is also a silent auction of scholars’ works. Great trouble is taken to exhibit and auction all works in a professional manner.

Guests who attend the evening have a good few hours of fun, excellent cuisine and appreciation of art. The school is richer in all ways from this event.

In September the Carinus learners are rewarded for their hard work during the year with our Annual Prizegiving Art Exhibitions. during this time we present our learners with awards for Best artworks and merit awards for avenges over 75%. The best artworks will be exhibited during this week.
